The Cooke Panchro/i Classic Full Frame lenses are a modern reimagining of the legendary Speed Panchro optics, redesigned for full-frame digital cinema cameras while preserving the timeless 1920s aesthetic that defined classic Hollywood. These lenses offer a unique blend of vintage character and modern precision, featuring soft contrast, smooth focus roll-off, painterly bokeh, subtle, organic flaring and color matching– ensuring consistency across the series. Built with state-of-the-art optical designs, they maintain excellent sharpness across the frame while embracing the gentle aberrations and warmth that give images a distinctive, filmic quality.
Technically, the Panchro/i Classics cover full-frame (36×24 mm) sensors with an image circle of 43.3mm. Most lenses feature a fast maximum aperture of T2.2, with longer focal lengths ranging from T2.4 to T3.0. The set includes a 65mm Macro option for close-focus needs. All lenses share a consistent 110mm front diameter except the 18mm which is 125mm, industry-standard 0.8 mod focus and iris drive gears, nine-leaf linear module iris assemblies for round, pleasing bokeh, 90° iris rotation and 270° focus rotation, and hardened PL mounts. Each lens also incorporates Cooke’s /i Technology, providing real-time lens metadata—including focus distance, iris setting, depth of field, and serial number—streamlining VFX and post-production workflows.
